A brand new day

Yesterday Dhaka was a hot city due to political strike of opposition party. I was in home with new idea and works. I wake up at 9PM and started writing the pending and last chapter of my wordpress book, “developing widgets and plugins”. Ayesha and Afif went to a relatives house so that I was all alone in home and my work ran on full throttle. I completed around 13 pages yesterday.

At night I started my long planned project “Golpo”, the Unicode based bangla group chat solution for netizens. I was working with the DAO and I almost finished it. I was planning for this project for a long time and DB schema was ready, just needed to start the work.

From now on, I will publish my upgrade regularly on this project. I know that I will be stuck with UI part because I am not a good designer.

Lets roll the project – It will be finished soon.

Unicode bangla writing using Bijoy (or Unijoy) keymap

Few days ago I released unicode based transliterator to write unicode bangla in web apps. Since then I was working on a unijoy version of that script.

Good news that the project has been finished. Last night I just uploaded all the contents in google project. This is a small javascript which will help to write unicode bangla in web applications using bijoy (or unijoy) keyboard mapping.

Old style Ref is also supported in this version.

Just a small anouncement from me on localization

I have done couple of projects for the companies I am working in or worked out, which are localized applications. But most of those projects were ANSI based, not unicode. So I made a decision last night that I wont spend my time for any ANSI projects in near future. All my localized projects will be Unicode.

Some of my colleagues will be extremely happy seeing this announcement, I bet that. But I have to mention a few names who inspired me a lot for making such a decision, among those Ekushey, Ankur and Omicronlab to mention.

One more thing, If , by any chance I have to develop a solution for ANSI, be sure that there will also be a unicode port of that project. That means a Hybrid solution.

Bangla Unicode Phonetic Parsing Script [Transliterator] Released

Finally the project is finished. I developed the transliterator in javascript to parse the english keyboard input in bangla unicode characters phonetically.

The script is released under LGPL, so anyone can use it.

Dear God-Thanks for Giving me yesterday

Yesterday was a great day in my life. I completed my unicode based phonetic parser after dreaming for a long long time. It was not that much tough as I thought while planning. It works great. Finally at 11:30 PM Hasan suggested a nice change and I implemented it to ease the life of end-developers who will incorporate bangla unicode parsers in thier web apps. It was totally around 15 hours job including planning, learning and implementing.

Yesterday I also managed the data in systech digital and it worked fine.

I am releasing the unicode parser from Ekushey.org and Google open source community. From now on, i can use this project in my upcoming localized applications.

Thanks God for giving me yesterday and thanks for giving me the spirit to work.

Unicode Phonetic Parser for Bangla

Last night I worked for 5 hours for basic RnD about my upcoming product, a unicode based phonetic parser for Bangla language. This parser will parse keystrokes phonetically (or you better say translitterally), for example when we will type “amar” you will see bangla “AMAR”.

I was stuck with a strange problem. But I solved that. Now conjunctions, Vowels and Consonants, Preceding Kars and Following Kars are working pretty fine. Though I need to spend some time with “Khanda To”, “Ref”, “Hasanth” and “Jo Fola”. Also “Oi kar”,”Ou kar” and “II Kar” needs to be processed with special care.

Thanks to Paul Nelson from Microsoft (Well, ya its Microsoft) and developers of Unicode Renderers for *nix distros for their unicode rendering engine.

I am releasing my script under CC/LGPL dual license from Ekushey.org, if everything goes fine.
