  1. interesting, though i’m using Assembla. Seems we should get more knowledge on shell and PECL lib according to you and I think it’s simply needed🙂

  2. @mamun – actually trac works best, but there are some problems installing trac in lam, among them one major one is that it’s developed using python.

    however, i was actually trying to focus on how to develop a service like springloops in php, which was actually developed using RoR.

  3. without going with pecl extension you could do it using normal “svn status”, “svn info”, “svn log” and “svn diff” command. disadvantage is you must have local check out version.

    so far i read from springloops site, probable they do more than you described above, such as they supports code review and importing existing svn.

    we have been using trac for around 7/8 months, i think trac is more expandable tools around. which has plenty of plugins. peer review is one of them, which has better integration with trac changeset and source browser.

  4. Actually Springloops is written in PHP and indeed what you wrote is a good start how to do it on your own. Good job!

    Please remember that we have also deployment features and it makes things a little bit more complicated.

    To be honest, PHP is great language, but it gave us a little bit of pain with some more sophisticated features. We needed to write our own PECL for handling SVN (basing on that one that you mentioned) to make everything that we wanted possible.

    For us such posts as yours are good, because maybe those PHP features will get more attention and some more development activity which they need. Good luck!
